Happy International Women’s Day from all of us at Connexis.
This International Women’s Day (IWD), on Friday, March 8th, let’s celebrate the remarkable women shaping New Zealand’s infrastructure industries and their significant contributions to showcase the exciting opportunities that await others.
The theme of this year’s IWD is ‘inspire inclusion’; a sentiment we are fully committed to at Connexis in all aspects of infrastructure training, particularly when it comes to attracting more women into infrastructure careers. Women are still significantly under-represented in infrastructure industries, with 11% of our trainees being female (year to December 2023), compared to just 3% in 2012, we have come a long way.
Connexis initiatives like Girls with Hi-Vis® (GWHV) and Ultimit – Women in Infrastructure, are aimed at attracting women into infrastructure careers and play a critical role in inspiring more women to consider a career in infrastructure.
As we mark International Women’s Day for 2024, I invite you to read and share the stories below from just a few of our incredible women trainees. Help us inspire inclusion by celebrating their successes and sharing them with women you know who might be looking to start or change a career.
