INFRASTRUCTURE GATEWAY MICRO-CREDENTIALS

Micro-credentials (MCs) are short training courses students complete while on Gateway placement. Our MCs have a combination of theory and practical unit standards, with options to complete through a workbook or eLearning on a laptop or mobile device.

Online learning includes assessments with theory questions incorporating multiple choice, drag and drop and true or false. There are also on-job practical tasks that are assessed, and evidence uploaded to the Connexis Learning Management System.

We assign an assessor to assess the students practical work and provide support and guidance to the school and student throughout the programme. Once the micro-credential is completed, a certificate is presented to the student.

MICRO-CREDENTIAL PROGRAMME FEES
Each programme costs $200 + GST per student and includes:

  • assessment of and loading of all units;
  • cost for all resources (workbooks or eLearning access and assessment material);
  • support and admin charge;
  • awarding of a Micro-credential to NZQA and a printed certificate for the student.

      TIPS TO SUCCESS

      TURN UP EARLY

      Be on-site at least 15 minutes before your start time. This shows your enthusiasm and also allows you to orient yourself with the worksite and people you will be working with.

      DRESS RIGHT

      Wear clean clothing suitable for the worksite including wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). If you're not sure, as the employer ahead of your placement, what clothing they recommend.

      ASK QUESTIONS

      Don’t be afraid to ask questions to help you understand different instructions or tasks. Asking questions helps your learning process and keeps you safe on-site.

      GET A DRIVER LICENCE

      Boost your chances of employment by getting a manual New Zealand Driver Licence. It’s a big tick for employers if you can get to worksites.
