Congratulations to our Board Chair Brian Warren, whose contribution to civil construction was recognised at the 42nd Civil Contractors New Zealand Hirepool Construction Excellence Awards on Friday night (30 July).
Brian received a National Life Membership to Civil Contractors New Zealand (CCNZ).
Connexis Chief Executive Kaarin Gaukrodger says Brian’s award was well-deserved and a reflection of the positive impact he has made on the industry over the course of a long and distinguished career.
She says a key focus for Brian has been on NZ Inc and ensuring there are enough skilled people to continue to build and maintain New Zealand’s infrastructure now and in the future.
“This is a huge issue and we need people like Brian to advocate for our industries to remove barriers to growth.”
Brian says he is humbled to receive the award.
“To be recognised in this way by your peers is a great honour. The annual CCNZ Awards showcase the special people and projects that the civil infrastructure industry is all about and to have this award given to me on that night is truly special.
“I have been fortunate to be able to work in and contribute to an industry that I really enjoy being part of.”
Brian has over forty years’ experience in the civil construction industry having held senior management positions with both Fulton Hogan and Isaac Construction. He was also a director of a number of subsidiary companies for both organisations. Brian is a member of the Institute of Directors; a director of Ashburton Contracting Ltd; and Chair of the Civil Trades Certification board.
Brian has been a Board member of Connexis since the merger between ESITO and Infratrain in 2013. He took over as Chair in late 2018.
