The NEW pathway to professional registration as a Line Mechanic.

This Level 4 New Zealand Certificate covers the practical skills and experience for line mechanics working in the distribution sector of the Electricity Supply Industry. It is a mandatory requirement for registration as a Line Mechanic with the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB).

This qualification replaces the National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Line Mechanic Distribution) – Level 4 (NZQA Ref: 0874). It has unit standards previously in the Level 2 Introductory qualification embedded, and also includes unit standards for Capstone professional practice. This means that all of the required competencies for line mechanics are now covered in one qualification.

This qualification will take around 24 months to complete. It is achieved through a blend of on-job learning and off-job courses.
