Chorus WTC 4 - Confined Spaces
To meet Chorus’ minimum standards for Health and Safety related competency for workers. This course covers the requirements for any work in the Chorus networks in a confined or restricted space.
Who Should Attend
Anyone required to work in confined or restricted spaces within the Chorus network, such as cable ducts, manholes or cable wells, and who is required to hold WTC4 competency

- 1 day face-to-face refresher: $3,400

What you will learn
- Identify hazards and controls, develop emergency plans and complete documentation for confined space entry.
- Understand confined spaces, permit notification and implementation requirements, and how to identify and control hazards.
- Understand confined space monitoring and testing requirements, and the responsibilities of workers and observers.
- Carry out atmospheric testing and interpret and respond to test results in potentially hazardous environments.
NZQA Unit Standards
17599: Plan a confined space entry.
18426: Demonstrate knowledge of hazards associated with confined spaces.
25510: Operate an atmospheric testing device to determine a suitable atmosphere exists to work safely.
Prerequisite
Must hold First aid Unit Standards
