Any person required to access rooftops, buildings or verandas to install or maintain overhead telecommunications assets and equipment and who are required to hold the Chorus WTC 6 competency

What you will learn
- How to select, use and maintain electrical and telecommunications PPE.
- Identify electric lines, system voltages, conductors, cables and structures.
- Understand health and safety responsibilities in an electricity supply environment.
- Identify, manage and monitor hazards while maintaining and reporting on site safety.
- Identify and safely use appropriate height safety equipment, including suitable anchor points and fall arrest systems.
- Plan rescue techniques and emergency procedures for working at height.
- Identify hazards and safely use, check and fit safety harnesses and associated equipment.
NZQA Unit Standards
10507: Use personal protection equipment within an electricity supply environment.
10508: Identify electricity systems used in the electricity supply industry.
18038: Describe health and safety duties on electricity supply sites.
25045: Employ height safety equipment in the workplace.
23229: Use safety harness system when working at height.
Must hold if proprietary fall arrest systems are used
15757: Use, install and disestablish temporary proprietary height safety systems when working at height.
