With the official winding up of Connexis – Infrastructure Industry Training Organisation in 2021, an Infrastructure Education Training Charitable Trust (IETCT) was established.
Managed by the Public Trust, the IETCT’s function is to support initiatives that step up the ongoing development of skills training within our workforce. The first tranche of funding was released in September 2022 which saw Connexis secure funding to provide two new grants that will support ongoing learning: the Financial Assistance Scholarship and the Outward Bound Scholarship.
Connexis will be releasing applications for these in 2023 and see them as great opportunities to promote diversity, support learners, and develop future industry leaders.
All these developments and ongoing RoVE implementations are colouring in the road map for the future of New Zealand’s vocational learning. The ultimate aim is always to support a sustainable infrastructure industry that develops healthy and vibrant communities, by ensuring our workers have relevant skills, and by making it easy for our future workforce to step into valued, sought-after and recognised careers.
